The Bridesmaids / The Groomsmen / The Dunfords / The Phillips

The Officiant

Michal Kazimir

Also known as:
“Kaz” or Uncle Mike

Kryptonite:
Cooking, welding and jumping out of planes.

A doctor, a chef, a welder, a scuba diver, the list goes on! Introducing not only Rachel’s super-Uncle, but our officiant: Dr. Michal Kazimir. A Denver local, adventurer, family man, Mr.fix it and also Eva’s baby bro. Rachel and Adam knew from the start that they wanted to have a special connection with their officiant and didn’t need to look any further than the one and only, “Uncle Mike”.

Some key Uncle Mike memories to highlight are the 5 AM fishing trips with Brooke and Rachel when they were kids, a guys trip through Africa with Stan, skiing the Colorado Rockies with Adam and watching Hudson out-ski the bride at age 10.

If Mike isn’t at home building Lego with his son Hudson, watching a Disney movie with his daughter Willa or going on an adventure with his better half, Rachael, you can find him exploring new countries and continents with his friends and family or working countless hours in the ER saving lives.

Mikes truly a man of many talents who Rachel and Adam couldn’t be more thrilled to have marry them. Mike was 15 when he spoke at Eva and Stan’s wedding where he delivered a wedding speech that had the crowd laughing and crying all at the same time.

Fast forward a few decades where Adam’s sister Ally and her husband, Urs, got the name for their daughter from Mike and Rachael, many, many,  Boots ago. Talk about a crazy series of events as the two Willa’s will be the flower girls at the wedding!

To the officiant, friend and rockstar Uncle. Thank you for helping us tie the knot!

The Bridesmaids

Brooke Dunford

(Maid of Honour)

Also known as:
Brookie

Kryptonite:
Dive bars, headbands, Tzatziki and hot sauce

  • Brooke is Rachel’s older sister, best friend and biggest role model. Brooke was born one year before Rachel and the two of them might as well have been twins. Not only were they glued at the hip, but Eva dressed them the exact same down to their matching bangs. Growing up together on a farm in Woodstock, the two would keep busy chasing butterflies, feeding donkeys and watching mom and dad wrangle the cows when they got out. Fast forward many years, chasing butterflies turned to chasing dreams where Brooke has taken her expertise in country music and talent buying to the booming city of Nashville, Tennessee. If Brooke isn’t scouting music talent or building the Boots and Hearts brand, you can find her laying low at the cottage, working on a puzzle or sippin’ an ice-cold beer or Reisling. Even though Brooke and Rachel are living in different countries, no distance in the world could get in the way of their unbreakable bond. Rachel couldn’t be more excited and proud to be having her older sister, best friend and confidant standing right next to her on her big day as her Maid of Honour.

Sierra Peddie

Also known as:
Rachel’s ride or die

Kryptonite:
Every single animal on the planet, all things spicy and the sun

  • Sierra is one of Rachel’s best friends since they first met attending Lakefield College School. The two were paired together as roommates on their first day of grade 9 based on a simple questionnaire they filled out prior to arriving at the school. Little did they know this was the start of a very incredible friendship. After the two lived together in the same house for all 4 years of high school, Rachel and Sierra were separated by university, but not for long. Sierra and Rachel found each other as roommates again after university, but this time in Toronto. However, 2 turned into 3, as Sierra’s better half Jesse also moved in with Rachel and Sierra. The “3 Amigos” took on life together not only as roommates but as the 3 best friends that anyone could have. Sierra and Jesse’s relationship is also one to note, as it was the reason why Rachel knew Adam was out there. Rachel was inspired by Sierra’s love for Jesse, and Jesse’s for Sierra as they kept Rachel believing in true love and that her turn was next.

After almost 4 years of living together, it was time for Sierra and Jesse to spread their wings (or to live without the third wheel, Rachel). The two made it for the mountains, as they bought and renovated a sprinter van that became their new home. The adventurous couple toured the world, but were stopped by one place in particular: Nelson, B.C. Now, Sierra and Jesse live in a beautiful home nestled in the mountains of Nelson, B.C… without Rachel.

Nora Hickey

Also known as:
“El Nino”

Kryptonite:
Fireball, power points and her new dog Mally

  • Nora is Rachel’s rock. A best friend to Rachel and top of the “in case of emergency call list”. Rachel and Nora met for the first time at Lakefield College School, where Nora was a day student living in Peterborough, and Rachel a boarder living on campus. Their separate living situation didn’t last long as they became roommates for all 4 years that they attended Western University. This was the birth of the famous house of the “Six Chicks”. Nora excelled at Western, quickly finding her passion in PR and brand management as she landed a job at the world renown Edelman Agency in Toronto. If Nora isn’t up til’ midnight “finishing off” a project, you can find her with the original “six chicks”, with her family in Peterborough, Pennies for a Caesar with friends, or rocking out with Rachel to a country tune or two. Like Rachel always says, she wouldn’t be where she is today without her best friend Nora.

Nora and Rachel have spent some of their best years together and always cheers to the same motto. To Nora (and the Six Chicks): “Cheers to the best years of our lives!” - Rachel

Brigitte Phillips

Also known as:
Brig

Kryptonite:
Dancing on tables, Broadway performances and Mandy’s salads

  • Brigitte is THE matchmaker extraordinaire, youngest of 4 siblings and also Adam’s youngest sister. Brigitte and Rachel have been friends for years, thanks to Eva and Sandy sending them on their first date to the Kee to Bala in 2014. Brigitte first planted the seed to Rachel that Adam was single and interested in asking her out. (Ask her about the pub-crawl). B is always the life of the party, no stranger to a song and dance routine or finding a way to get the crowd laughing. If Brigitte isn’t traveling the world with friends or belting a tune on her portable microphone, you can find her giving the world “wings” as she has quickly proven herself as an important member of the team at Red Bull Canada.

Ally Phillips

Also known as:
Tibits

Kryptonite:
Baking, horseback riding and wine by the box

  • Ally is not only the oldest of the 4 Phillips kids but a superstar mom to Bodhi and Willa Stockmann. Ally grew up on the West side of Toronto where she attended Branksome Hall. Ally excelled in school and her athletic performance found her on the school’s swim team in grade 9. After Branksome, Ally attended Bishop’s University where she met her amazing husband, Urs. If Ally is not in between school runs, dance lessons, dirty diapers or horseback riding, you can find her brushing up on her German or showcasing her extensive creativity through culinary arts and design. You can find Ally and her family at the Stockmann family farm in Pembroke or at their beautiful home in King City, where their daughter, Willa, attends the same Public School that Rachel went to! If you need a good sister hug, some of the best-baked goods you’ve ever had or a spectacular party thrown, Ally’s got you covered!

Lauren Arnold

Also known as:
Lori

Kryptonite:
Flat-lay photos, Fenelon Falls and her new hubby, David

  • Lauren and Rachel met at Muskoka Woods when they were 11 years old, and the two hit it off right from the start. After camp, Rachel and Lauren would “meet in the middle” at Canada’s Wonderland where they would hang out as Rachel lived in King City and Lauren in Richmond Hill. Lauren then attended Holy Trinity School and Rachel Lakefield College School, so this meant the two would see each other when their high schools played each other in sports. The girls would get so excited to see each other on the courts, as Rachel and Lauren would run, yelling and screaming when they were supposed to have their game faces on. Fast forward to 2012 as both the girls were prepping for university, Rachel saw Lauren’s Facebook status that she would be living in Delaware and taking Media Information and Technoculture. The two would be living in the exact same residence AND taking the exact same program, talk about it being meant to be. The two rekindled their friendship on day 1 of university and continued to live under the same roof for all 4 years. Lauren is now at the top of her game as an all-star PR and communications professional at TalkShop Media. Lauren is a recently married woman to her soulmate and her favourite life co-pilot, David Pilat.

Cierra Goulding

Also known as:
Cici

Kryptonite:
Bass players, tacos and a fireplace to twerk on

  • Cierra is a proud Kingston, Ontario native and made the trip west after high school to Western University where she met Rachel. Ci and Rachel hit it off with a bang in Delaware Hall where they both lived before moving into 147 Huron together. This was the infamous house of “The Six Chicks.” Cierra graduated Western with a Health Science degree with The Chicks by her side before making her way to Toronto where she started her professional career in healthcare and tech. Most recently, Cierra landed a job at ISN headquartered in Dallas, Texas where she helps build the company’s networks of contractor and supplier information management. Cierra is not only the taco queen of the crew, but is also the adventure-loving athlete that is always down for a good time. If Cierra isn’t on a work trip in Texas or sippin’ on a spicy marg, you can find her and her boyfriend, Michael (aka Zim), on the golf course, at one of Michael’s concerts (ask about his band!) or visiting her family back home in Kingston

Madeline Mackenzie

Also known as:
Mads

Kryptonite:
Slappin the bass (ask her to show you her party trick), boxed vodka water and taking legal action

  • Rachel and Madeline met at Western University in 2012. The two quickly gravitated towards each other and that frosh week was ground zero for a lifelong friendship. Rachel and Madeline were in Delaware rez and added even more fuel to the friendship as they moved into 147 Huron Street which quickly became the Headquarters for the “Six Chicks”. Madeline has a contagious fun loving and easy-going attitude, but don’t be fooled by her party tricks as Monday to Friday Madeline is a fierce Litigator at the law firm, Stieber Berlach in Toronto. Bilingual in French and English, Madeline combines creative strategy and problem solving with articulate and effective legal writing and presentation. Elle Woods doesn’t have ANYTHING on Madeline ;). If Madeline isn’t at her cottage on Stoney Lake, or speed walking down Ossington, you can find her grabbing patio beers with friends or making a picture-perfect cocktail with the girls.

Jessie Blair

Also known as:
Chester

Kryptonite:
The Dixie Chicks (ask her if she knows the lyrics to Goodbye Earl), cottage living and dogs

  • Jessie was a day student at Lakefield College School where her and Rachel first met in grade 9. They would hang out together in Memorial House (Rachel’s boarding house), a spot Jessie would frequently visit after school. A proud Peterborough, Ontario native, Jessie now finds herself in Toronto living with Nora Hickey about 3 blocks from Rachel and Adam. Jessie attended Queen’s University and let’s just say she never sat in the “no talking” section at the library ;). Jessie now keeps everyone connected working at Slack here in Toronto. Jessie is a conversationalist, the queen of random facts and lover of dogs. She is no stranger to a good time and more importantly is a vodka, Red Bull savant. If Jessie isn’t at home with her family and boyfriend, Alex, in Peterborough or listening to country music with the girls, you can catch her at the house on Ossington, or listening to the latest Zach Bryan album with Alex by her side.

The Groomsmen

Hayden Phillips

Also known as:
Hays

Kryptonite:
Birdies, lime Whiteclaws and Charlie the Morkie

  • Hayden is Adam’s younger brother, but not by much. 1 day shy of 2 years apart, Adam was born on June 2nd 1990 and Hayden on June 1st 1992. Hayden’s love (or shall we say obsession) with golf comes in close 2nd to his love for his family and girlfriend, Shelby. Hayden’s favorite pastime might just be watching Rachel and Adam leave for travel because it means quality time with his best friend, Charlie, Rachel and Adam’s 10lbs Maltese-Yorkie. Hayden’s dislikes include all things fruit, when someone else is in charge of the BBQ, and losing at beer pong (which he does from time to time when he plays Rachel one v one). On the contrary, Hayden loves lime White Claws, Formula One racing and being the best uncle in the world to his niece and nephew Willa and Bodhi. When it comes to the wedding you can find Hayden getting Adam and the groomsmen fired up for all of the golf at Casa De Campo, but most importantly you can find him standing right next to Adam at the front of the aisle as Adam’s best man.

David Clark

Also known as:
Clarkie

Kryptonite:

Autotrader, navy-blue anything and a good haircut.

  • David and Adam met all the way back in Grade 4. David was the first friend adam met at Royal St George’s College and they have been best friends ever since. The two have had a lot of laughs together, many incredible trips and a solid 4 year stint together at Bishops University. After the tame 4 years at University, David took his business degree and specific interest in finance and has solidified himself in the wealth management space at Gluskin Sheff in Toronto. Fast forward a few years, David met the love of his life Hilary, back in 2020. A string of very successful dates quickly turned to “I DO” when David and Hilary got married with their sweet 2 year old baby boy Austin Clark by their side in the summer on 2022. Adam was honored to be David’s best man at the wedding. Adam considers himself the 3rd child in the Clark household. Where David’s parents, Stephen and Cathy have always hosted Adam on family trips out west or up at the cottage on Kenisis Lake. If David’s not driving, you can find him flipping through the latest Auto Trader ads looking for his next car, teaching Austin about cars, or cleaning his cars.

Eddie Younger

Also known as:
Ed

Kryptonite:

The first possible tee-time, Grand Bend with the family and french bulldogs.

  • Eddie and Adam have been close friends since Grade six when Eddie and his family moved back to Canada from the UK. The two immediately hit it off with their shared love of skateboarding and sports. They would terrorize the neighborhoods of Lawrence park and Eddie’s driveway on a weekly basis. After the two graduated from RSGC. Eddie took himself and his love for sports to Dalhousie and later the University of Toronto where he dominated the rugby and football fields. Fast forward a number of years and Eddie meets the love of his life, Lindsay Preston. The two got married in the summer of 2016 near Lindsays Cottage in Grand Bend. Eddie’s got a energetic and passionate attitude with a profound love for his beautiful wife Lindsay, daughter Addison, new baby boy, Rory and of course a very honorable mention of Penelope a.k.a. “Penny” their dancing French Bulldog. If Eddies not with his family at home in Toronto, Grand Bend or Muskoka, you can find him on a treadmill, working on his golf game or applying sunscreen.

Kevin Marthinsen

Also known as:
K-Mart

Kryptonite:

Kraft Dinner, the British Virgin Islands and a perfectly manicured backyard.

  • Kevin and Adam met back in grade 5 where they both attended Royal St Georges College. Kevin was always the entertainer all the way through grade school and into University. The best part about that? Kevin hasn’t changed one bit. You can find Kevin at any function working the room and getting people to laugh. Some of those personality traits are what brought Kevin and his wife, Leigh, together back in 2021. Kevin’s a family man, the youngest of 3 boys and proud new father to he and Leigh’s first born, Oliver. a.k.a. Ollie! If Kevin’s not state-side with the family you can find him meticulously planning their next trip, curating a perfect summer schedule, chasing their cat Chloe around the house or making a fresh pot of Kraft Dinner. Keep an eye out for Kevin on the dancefloor, or even belting out a tune or two on stage. Consult Kevin for any of your real estate financing needs or just ask him about life in the British Virgin Islands where his family has had a villa for 20+ years.

Jesse Bertrand

Also known as:
JB

Kryptonite:

Road trips, the Rocky Mountains and gravity fed sports

  • Our pal Jesse, everyone’s favorite mountain man. A Toronto native and all around action junkie with a keen eye for photography and true jack of all trades. Jesse came into the picture a number of years ago when he started to date Rachel’s best friend (and now bridesmaid!) Sierra Peddie. The 3 of them lived together at Rachel’s home, sharing dinners, stories and some of their favorite life experiences to date. Jesse quickly became like a big brother figure to Rach. Sierra would go on work trips which would leave Jesse and Rachel playing Monopoly deal, Phase 10 and bar hopping through Ossington just to kill time until the 3rd of the 3 amigos came back. Fast forward a few years to when Jesse and Sierra bought their van and departed life on Shaw street for the rocky mountains of Canada. Their new life in the “Van-sion” or “Van-Borghini” was born. Jesse and Sierra outfitted an entire Mercedes sprinter van by themselves and if you get the chance, you’ve got to ask to see photos! Think… “The 1 Hotel on Wheels”.

Jesse grew up just around the corner from Adam in Toronto’s west end but the two never crossed paths. However, with how well these two have hit it off you’d think they’ve been best friends their whole lives. Better yet, when Sierra, Jesse, Rachel and Adam are together turn the other way cause you might have a hard time keeping up ;).

Urs Stockmann

Also known as:
Russ

Kryptonite:

Anything made in Germany, extremely cold, light beer and Tom Brady

  • Urs, the youngest of the 3 Stockmann kids, superstar dad to Willa and Bodhi and husband to Adam’s sister, Ally. The German heritage runs deep in the Stockmann family as they made their home in the beautiful countryside of Pembroke, Ontario after immigrating from Germany in the late 80’s. Urs is a family man, proud of his German heritage and absolutely no stranger to a good time. If the Lederhosen is on, you’re in for a great time with Urs.

Ally and Urs met at Bishop’s University during Ally’s first year. This was truly a match made in heaven as the two continued their relationships back home after university doing the weekly drives between Toronto and Pembroke. Urs decided to make the move to Toronto where he and ally would kick start their next chapter of life together. Hayden and Adam both stood by Urs and Ally’s side as they got married in Toronto in 2011. Fast forward a few years to 2016, they welcomed their first born, little Willa Stockmann into the world. Now settled down in their new beautiful home in King City the extra bedrooms quickly filled up with Willa and now 3 year old little Bodhi!

If Urs isn’t leading his team at work, learning about cars and trucks, fixing something or shaving his head… You can find him with the family at home in King or the cottage enjoying a relaxing day on the dock. Adam couldn’t be happier to return the favor and now have Urs, by his side 12 years later.

Colin Noble

Also known as:
Nobes

Kryptonite:

Being a #GirlDad, happy clients (let Colin find you your next home!!), and family time at the Noble ranch in Uxbridge.

  • Colin and Adam met at RSGC when they were in grade 4. Not long after that Colin and his family went back to their second home just outside of Sydney Australia for a number of years. Colin and the Noble family returned to Canada and Colin met his sweetheart and now Wife, Diana. Colin and Diana have two beautiful little girls, Olivia and Emma and an energetic lab, Ruby. Colin and Diana find home in Uxbridge where they just built their dream home. Rewinding a number of years, Adam and Colin spent many summer weekends at the Phillips family cottage. They may have been known to jump off a dock or two rocking their new speedo’s. Sadly, there’s photo evidence of this. Colin is a die hard Leafs fan, sailor, Rugby player and rockstar #GirlDad. He’s got great stories from his world travels and calls Australia his second home. With enough drinks the Aussie accent tends to make a return. If Colin’s not selling you your next house, you can catch him and Diana at the Noble family home in Uxbridge surrounded by a rapidly expanding group of grandkids.

Roberto Menezes

Also known as:
Berto

Kryptonite:

His Trans-Am, Portugal, Huskies and sneakers.

  • Roberto and Adam met in their first year at Bishop’s University. Originally they were randomly selected to room together but plans changed. Nevertheless the friendship was a hit as the two shared countless memories and maybe one too many laughs. Roberto and his wife Adriana live just outside Ottawa with their beautiful baby boy, Elio and dog named Clark. The two welcomed their Elio into the world on April 24th, 2023! You might have seen Roberto at one of your recent border crossings as he works diligently for Canada’s Border Security team at the Ottawa airport. If he’s not strip-searching you or detaining the countries most wanted, you can find him cleaning his cars (ask about his Trans-Am) ordering the latest pair of sneakers, or packing up the car with Adriana for a weekend at the Phillips cottage or kicking it to some country music at Boots & Hearts with the gang. A proud Portuguese, Roberto knows his way through multiple different languages and will do just about anything for his friends and family.

Meet the Parents

Stan Dunford

Kryptonite:
Crown Royal, Harley Davidsons and Eva’s sheppard’s pie

  • Stan is the world’s largest music and movie lover. Name a movie and he’s watched it, pull up a Voice audition and he’s seen it. His love for music was passed on to Rachel at a very young age as the two have spent countless hours singing karaoke in the basement of every home they have lived in and watched live music auditions together in every living room. If Stan isn’t sailing the seas, you can catch him on the golf course or at the cottage in his 85-degree pool. Note to self: don’t challenge Stan to backing up an 18-wheeler, wrangling a bull or singing the song “My Way” because he’s got you beat. Instead, grab him a crown and coke or a set of good speakers and you’ll be in his good books. If you want to find Stan at the wedding just look on the dance floor, because he’s got you beat there too.

Eva Dunford

Kryptonite:
Her daughters, Boots and Hearts, Amazon Prime, and over-feeding Adam.

  • Eva is the definition of the word selfless. We might as well put her name in the dictionary next to it. If Eva’s not planning Canada’s largest country music festival, you can find her taking care of her two daughters and her biggest kid, Stan. Eva loves making people happy, finding the latest and greatest gadgets, and making sure everyone is always having as much fun as possible. Not only is she a badass boss, but she is also a part-time chef, comedian, stylist and most importantly a loving mother, wife and sister. Rachel may be a fashion stylist by name, but where do you think she got it from? If you haven’t noticed, Rachel is actually Eva 2.0. From their happy cry to their laugh, Rachel and Eva couldn’t be more similar. Rachel can’t wait to grow up to be just like her mom.

Sandy Phillips

Kryptonite:
Being fireside with the family, 1000 piece puzzles and home-made pizzas.

  • Sandy is the rock of the Phillips family. Mother of the Phillips 4 as they call it and loving wife of Bruce the Moose, which we all know, is a very energetic role at times ;). All jokes aside, Sandy and Bruce have been happily married for 45 years. If Sandy isn’t being a mom-ager to one of her 4 kids, or the Moose, you can find her travelling the world with friends and family, on the golf course or knitting a masterpiece. Just like her golf swing, Sandy’s calm, cool and composed. Which she had to be raising these 4 kids ;). She loves a good oldie singalong song and is the master and creator of an incredible banana bread recipe and Adam’s favorite- “mom’s chicken and rice”. Give her a good movie, a fire and her family close by and you couldn’t make her happier. She is the definition of a super-mom, problem solver extraordinaire, sangria lover, puzzle expert and selfless beyond belief.

Bruce "The Moose" Phillips

Kryptonite:
Champagne shoulder pours (ask for a tutorial), Imperial cheese & Worchestershire sandwiches and anytime that the families all together in one place.

  • The Moose is the secondary manager and main entertainer of the Phillips clan. The oldest of 3 brothers and former Galvanizing CEO turned **almost** scratch golfer. If “The Moose” isn’t traveling or nestled in at the cottage with Sandy and the family. You can catch him cheering on his Leafs, on the golf course or ripping through Gloucester Pool and Georgian Bay in his Boat, named, “Va-Moose”. If he’s not on the elliptical or cycling the northern roads with his road biking buddies you can probably catch him practicing a new magic trick. (Ask for the light-up fingers!)

If you’re lucky enough to have collected a famous “Moose Pen” or rolled a set of tequila pigs over a bottle of wine, you know the fun, loving and incredible attitude that the Moose brings into everyone’s life.
